Three Rivers Contingency Planning Association
The
primary purpose of this Association is to promote education and the exchange of
information between members for the improvement and development of their
capabilities relating to contingency planning in the field of business
continuity and disaster recovery.
Three
Rivers Contingency Planning Association (TRCPA) is a non-profit organization and
its members or officers obtain no financial benefits.
TRCPA
is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and membership is free to all business and
individuals interested in contingency planning regardless of their location.

Membership is open to all business professionals involved in any aspect of the field of contingency planning. This includes the recovery of systems and end user work areas, emergency management, crisis planning, etc. Membership is also open to vendors and suppliers of goods and services, but this organization and its officers will not endorse any product or service or act as a vehicle for sales promotions to be conducted.
No
membership fees or dues are charged to members for joining TRCPA or attending
the bi-monthly meetings. Members are welcome to donate their time, knowledge,
and an occasional meeting place. TRCPA members actively participate in the
association's activities and also in the decision making for future growth.
Bi-monthly meetings, which include presentations made by experienced members and/or other experts in the industry
Bi-monthly newsletter, which includes program announcements, planned association activities, and periodic literature and reference materials relating to all aspects of recovery.
Continuing Education (CEU) credits for meeting attendance.
Announcements of upcoming symposiums and conferences relating to this industry (many at a discount to TRCPA members)
Networking
with other professionals with the same goals and responsibilities,
exchanging ideas, methods and proven successes.

This
person would be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining the
specific business continuity plans for the business unit for which they are
responsible, and to ensure that those plans conform to specific policy, methods,
and procedures as established by EBCM. The
Planner must be able to understanding the businesses, services, products offered
by the LOB units, and their interdependencies with other support services or
units in order to effectively develop an effective business continuity plan. The
Planner must be able to gain the confidence of the plan contacts (or subject
matter experts) with whom they work to gather information and develop specific
detailed plans. The Planner provides status reports to the Business Continuity
Coordinator named for the LOB.
The
position requires excellent communication skills, project management and
organizational skills, and requires that they be able to work with subject
matter experts and senior management. The
Planner should possess a strong sense of urgency, deadlines, and be results
oriented. Minimum qualifications: 3 years experience in Contingency planning. 3
years experience business continuity planning and coordinating test plan
exercises. 3-5 years business experience and data processing systems and
applications. 3 years experience using the Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and
Power Point.
